Among all computers I have installed Cisco VPN Client, my Windows 7 is the only one that had the problem connecting to the remote VPN server. The error, "Secure VPN connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412. The remote peer is no longer responding". Means that the software VPN Client detected that the VPN server is not responding anymore and deleted the connection. Now, this is caused by several different issues, for example: Cisco VPN Client - Reason 412: The remo - Cisco Community Ping the IP address of the remove server in order to verify that the VPN Client device has IP connectivity to the remote server. Check to see that Internet Key Exchange (IKE) or IPsec traffic is not blocked by a device between the VPN Client and the remote server .
